East Bay, Moraga:

A suburban lawn reimagined

Originally planted in the ’60s, the sprawling lawn on this home was in bad shape after years of drought, and the owners wanted it gone…but not entirely. Our design traded the old thirsty lawn for a smaller area of low-water ornamental grass, enhanced the shape of the yard with terraces, and complemented the home’s architecture with new stone wall accents. The result is a lively meadow of drought-tolerant plantings with major neighborhood approval.
