Originally planted in the ’60s, the sprawling lawn on this home was in bad shape after years of drought, and the owners wanted it goneā€¦but not entirely. Our design traded the old thirsty lawn for a smaller area of low-water native grass, enhanced the shape of the yard with terraces, and complemented the home’s architecture with new stone wall accents. The result is a lively meadow of drought-tolerant and California native plantings with major neighborhood approval.
